From the First Idea to Leading Heating Technology
Environmentally friendly, economical, innovative—these ambitions inspired Klemens Oskar Waterkotte in 1968 to develop a completely new heating system: Germany’s first heat pump. This pioneer was already heating his own home with geothermal energy as early as 1968. In developing this innovative technology, he drew on his extensive theoretical knowledge and professional experience in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and process engineering.
Shortly thereafter, he founded his own company based on this idea, laying the foundation for the present-day success of WATERKOTTE GmbH.
