What happens when outside temperatures are very low?
Modern heat pumps operate reliably and efficiently even at very low outdoor temperatures. Thanks to advanced inverter technology, optimised refrigerants and intelligent control systems, they can extract sufficient heat from the ambient air, the ground or groundwater even at sub-zero temperatures.
In extreme temperatures, depending on the system, an integrated electric heating element or a hybrid solution, for example in combination with gas heating, supports heat generation. This ensures that the heat supply is guaranteed at all times. At the same time, automatic defrost programmes ensure that the heat pump's performance remains stable even in winter.
Modern heat pumps are specially designed for cold climates and ensure comfortable and energy-efficient heating of the building even at temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius or below.
